    What are Timeline plans?

Timeline plans are a way of specifying all the milestones that exist on a job with the start dates and durations, plus deadlines and who is responsible.

There would be a template timeline that can be set for each job type, when you create the timeline on the job, you would select the template timeline that you are using. The Responsible field is either the client, house or a supplier - the type of responsible party. The user will select a supplier when they are creating the timeline on the job, the field when creating the timeline is there to select the type of responsible party. The Start Date is a date field. The Duration is a number field in days. This is the number of workdays. When this calculates the Due Date, it needs to take into consideration the number of working days and allow for holidays that are programmed into the system.

Each line on the timeline is an independent piece of data, that needs to be ordered by date and due date when two lines have the same start date but one finishes earlier than the other, the one with the earlier Due Date appears first.

Output - print to a stationery template, as this will be given to a client. Need to be able to email this to the client.

Intention is to also produce this as a Gantt chart, independent of the traffic tab, but we should also look at integrating the Traffic Schedule as part of this as it will allow the user to see if there are inconsistencies between their timing plan and the schedule in traffic.

    Sample data follows:
